Because of our move to California from Canada, it didn’t make sense to buy it up there and ship it down to California. Instead, Kenny sent us with some cash and had us pick one out. We finally found a good bike for Canaan and he is VERY excited about it! He’s still very nervous and cautious about it, but I don’t think that it will take him time to get used to it.

I recorded some of the video and Dana said that I could share it on our blog. It’s a little jerky because it was just a screen capture but still awfully cute! Check out Noah’s yawn near the end of the video.

While there wasn’t an incredible amount of snow fall the winds were vicious causing huge drifts and no visibility. We set up my computer for the night on top of a shelf infront of the patio doors (pictured left) to record the view of our backyard while we slept. While nothing drastic occured it’s interesting to watch the ebb and flow of the drift as the winds changed.

We, along with 85,000 other people (yes, it was insane) jammed ourselves around a 600m ice rink course that has steep jumps, stair steps and hairpin turns. Here’s how the Red Bull Crashed Ice website describes the event:

You know bobsled, probably the luge, and if you’ve got any Canuck in your blood then definitely a toboggan hill. Combine the best of each and throw in a bumpin’ dose of imagination and you’ve got something close to the Crashed Ice course.

I of course brought my video camera and got a couple of shots but with so many people it was incredibly difficult to get a good quantity of footage. Jesse, a friend of mine at the university, recorded the live presentation of Red Bull Crashed Ice and gave me a digital copy. So I suppose I would call the following video a remix. I cut up the footage from the TV and spliced in some of my own along with some music. It was actually more work than I expected cutting up the TV footage, I didn’t want any logos (besides the everpresent TSN watermark) or stats to show up. Hope you enjoy!
