Cheap or Frugal?

Debra & I went for a walk today and were surprised at the number of beer bottles on the side of the road. We actually found a whole box of them that someone tossed out the window of their car. So we got a couple grocery bags and collected them all up! Some may call us cheap, but hey, there’s nothing better than eating ice cream that didn’t cost you a cent. Plus, we got to go on a nice walk to find the bottles. A win win situation if you ask me.

Spring Cleaning!

MMMMMMMM! Friday and today have been house and yard cleaning days. I finally took down old christmas lights. I remembered how cold my fingers got putting them and I’ve been reluctant to take them down till it got a bit warmer. Meh. Afterwards we had an awesome BBQd chicken and potatoe dinner which Deb cooked for us! It was refreshing to be outside doing anything at all with the beautiful weather that we had!

Does anyone love chocolate as much as me? If you lined up all the chocolate I have eaten it would most likely go around the world at least once! Could you imagine how skinny I would be if I hadn’t ever had chocolate?? But could you imagine how deprived I would be? God bless the man who invented chocolate! But why did he have to make it bad for you? ~Debra

Immigrations a comin!

Through an error we made regarding Deb’s visitors visa, we ended up finding out some sort of time table on Deb’s immigration application! We both were sure that Deb’s visa expired this coming weekend, and we planned on going to the border on Friday to take care of it. Renewing it is usually $75. Well, we were wrong about the date, it was actually the 7th, not the 17th. We found this out by calling immigration to find out about the visa and what we should do. While Deb was talking to the customs agent on the phone, they also told her that her immigration application has been looked at and she should receive permanent resident status around September! The only bummer is that because her visa expired, we now have to pay $200. At least we don’t have to drive to New York….

Giggles!

Does anyone love to laugh as much as me? I have had a serious case of the giggles lately! Maybe because I am starting to feel better and the sun is out now! I don’t know! Poor Norm… he would be talking to me about something serious or giving me a kiss and I would just break out laughing! =) Whoops! Oh well! I think laughter truly is the best medicine and I am feeling a whole lot better! This is a picture of Norm and me doing our favourite thing… Laughing. I could have posted a lot of other laughing pictures…. but probably would have been killed or sued or something for putting them on the internet! =)

The Sickly Copelands

When I got to work tonight I was feeling pretty nasty, pounding headache, sore joints, etc. You know, the random nastiness that you can’t put your finger on but nonetheless is quite noticeable. We were overstaffed on my line and my coordinator was offering same day leaves for those who wanted to volunteer. I decided to take him up on it. I’m they type of person that feels bad for doing something like that, even though I am legitimately sick. But Debra made me feel better by telling me that if I didn’t get rest tonight, who knows, I might have ended up down for the count tomorrow and missed more than one night of work. Good point. After many days of rest, Debra is slowly starting to feel better. She still isn’t 100% but she does seem to be better than she was on the weekend. Keep her in your prayers, she’s really looking forwarding to being up to getting outside and enjoying the amazing weather! Frog season approaches!

Frog Hunting Season

Orangeville, Ontario – 5 Day Weather Forecast – Environment Canada
Anyone notice the difference between this past weekend and the one before it? Crazy Canadian weather, but i’m not going to complain. Thankfullly, it doesn’t look like the sun is going to stop anytime soon. I guess this is one of the bad things about working midnights – missing the beautiful spring days. Spring has got to be my favourite season, when everything is coming back to life. Last spring and summer Deb & I enjoyed catching frogs…. yes, that may seem weird but we love it…. we look forward to doing that again this year! We found out the hard way though that frogs absolutely can not co habitate with our turtles. It took the turtles all of 0.3 seconds to grab a frog by the leg. I think Deb was scarred for life by that incident. The turtle wouldn’t let go of it’s leg either. Enough of the gory details, enjoy your warm week of sunshine!!

Don’t Adjust your Monitor Settings!

We’ve done a little bit of formatting here at The Ramblings. Everything is still set up exactly the same, we just changed the colors and the heading picture. Hope you like!

Trimlea Farm from Space

On Mike Tyas’ blog we read about this cool new satellite feature on Google maps, and were able to find our house! Pretty cool eh? They don’t have detail for all areas, but surprisingly enough they have Orangeville! Click on the picture for a closer look.
